SMCD presents Michael Yoder of LinkedUp Grand Rapids. Michael will be providing attendess with tips and tricks on how to enhance your personal and company profiles to the fullest. Whether it be for recruitment, job hunting or lead generation, LinkedIn can be a huge resource, so why not maximize its potential.
Garden Fresh Salsa will be providing refreshments and food for attendees. Parking is available behind Garden Fresh off Farrow St.

About Michael Yoder:
Michael has a broad background in consulting and business development. He has worked with gazelle companies and multi-billion dollar corporations in the telecommunications, retail (corporate), IT, scientific, Web marketing/development, and domestic and international nonprofit industries. His fields of expertise include social media, organizational communications, business development, human resources, staffing, and contingent workforce management.
Michael is the owner/manager of LinkedUp Grand Rapids. He is responsible for taking LinkedUp Grand Rapids from a few hundred to over 10,000 members in 4 years. It is currently the largest LinkedIn non-alumni networking group in the State of Michigan.
Michael also works with Fluis, Inc., a new media agency. His focus is on finding new ways for people and companies to engage with their target audience. This includes innovative and comprehensive strategies for clients throughout West Michigan and nationally.
Additionally, Michael is a regular guest presenter at various colleges, universities, conferences, workshops, trade associations, and civic groups. He typically presents on current trends and issues related to social networking and social media marketing for businesses and business professionals.
Michael has a BA in speech & communications from Geneva College in Pennsylvania and an MA in organizational communications from Western Michigan University. He has served as a board member for the Specialized Language Development Center, and currently serves as a Communications committee member for Calvin Christian High School, and is the board Secretary of RandyDon Ministries board of directors. A long-time resident of Grand Rapids, he lives on the Northwest side of the city with his wife and three children.

SMC - Detroit's primary mission is to connect the active hubs and professionals in our area while also helping promote social media literacy, technologies, and encourage ethical behavior and share best practices.
